Aditi Debnath
Managing Editor
Aditi is majoring in Journalism and Spanish. She works for PBS Wisconsin and has written for the Daily Cardinal and a few campus magazines. She plays the cello and is in a university orchestra. She grew up in Madison. Though her family moved out of state a few years ago, she stayed because UW is a good university.
Rachel Sokolow
Managing Editor
Rachel is majoring in Journalism and Environmental Studies. In her free time, she likes to read, paint and listen to music. She also likes to play with her dog outside and take her to the beach. Rachel came to Wisconsin because she knew she wanted to study journalism and that UW had a good program. More importantly, she wanted to go somewhere far from home that would give her new experiences. Wisconsin is pretty much the opposite of Rhode Island, so she thinks she did a good job.
Alison Stecker

Alison is majoring in Journalism and Strategic Communications with certificates in Disability Rights and Services and Gender and Women’s Studies. She is an online editor at Moda, a campus news editor at the Daily Cardinal and a student writer at the Division of Continuing Studies. She is studying abroad in Barcelona next semester.
Rachel Hale

Rachel is majoring in Journalism and Political Science with certificates in Jewish Studies and Middle East Studies. She is a culture editor at Moda Magazine, a content intern with the University of Wisconsin School of Journalism and Mass Communication website, a freelancer for Wisconsin publications and a writer at the Daily Cardinal. She’s a junior and is studying abroad next semester in Florence.
Grace Friedman

Grace is majoring in Journalism and Strategic Communications. She is a reporter for The Badger Herald and The Knockturnal. She loves to go on the boat or play on the beach with dogs at home.
Max Stapleton
Multimedia Editor
Max is majoring in Journalism and Communication Arts. He loves to broadcast and write about sports. After this year, Max hopes to be working in the sports media landscape either as a broadcaster, radio show host or journalist. He decided to come to Madison because of the beautiful campus, great academics and welcoming people.
William Fannon
Multimedia Team
William is majoring in Journalism, Film TV & Radio and Political Science. He works as utilities for ESPN and a PA for Great Point Studios. In his free time, William likes to watch a lot of TV, read the news, work out and play basketball. He chose Wisconsin because he was always interested in journalism and UW’s program has been top-notch. William also wanted to go to a school with a big campus atmosphere.
Camila Trimberger

Camila is majoring in Journalism. She is the station manager at WSUM, a writer for EMMIE Magazine, and a freelancer for WPR. In her free time, Camila loves to make pies, DJ and watch Muppet movies. Born and raised in Sheboygan, she stayed in Wisconsin because what’s not to love about the Malibu of the Midwest?
Owen Shao

Owen is majoring in Journalism. He is an intern for the PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Lab, the visuals director for Madison Commons and a reporter for the Daily Cardinal. In his spare time, Owen likes creating videos. He stayed in Wisconsin for the in-state tuition.

Abby is majoring in Journalism and Digital Studies. She is an editorial intern for Madison Magazine. In her free time, Abby likes to read, watch movies and travel. She came to Wisconsin for the university, amazing academics and beautiful campus. Abby has found a great and unique community in Madison and has enjoyed exploring more of the state!
Charlotte Bellamy

Charlotte is majoring in Journalism and Strategic Communication. She works at Rec Well, The Badger Herald and the WUD Publications Committee. She enjoys picking fonts in her free time. Charlotte is a fellow Midwesterner, so beer and cheese runs deep in her blood. She visited Wisconsin, met the nicest people she’s ever met and hasn’t left.
Caroline Crowley

Caroline is majoring in Journalism and Strategic Communication with a certificate in Environmental Studies. She is a managing editor for The Badger Herald and does freelance work for Ballotpedia. In her free time, she likes to be outside, hike and run. Caroline stayed in Wisconsin for school because she enjoys the nature on campus.
Austin Keller

Austin is majoring in Journalism and Strategic Communication. He is a breaking news reporter for RotoWire and a sports writer for The Badger Herald. In his spare time, he enjoys watching and playing sports, going to concerts with friends and camping. Austin grew up in a Madison suburb and has always felt like part of the UW family, with his wardrobe consisting mostly of red and white clothes since he can remember. He encourages those who haven’t visited to do so as soon as possible.
Danielle Csaszar

Danielle is majoring in Journalism and Strategic Communication. She is an arts editor at Moda Magazine and a contributing writer and editor for Souvenirs Magazine. She loves to spend time outdoors, travel and try new foods. She is a born and raised Wisconsinite, and she stayed in the state because the UW campus has an infinite amount of resources to endlessly learn.
Hina Suzuki
Web Team
Hina is majoring in Journalism and Psychology. She is a social media coordinator for UW-Madison Japanese Student Association and a multimedia intern for the Low Technology Institute. From sixth to ninth grade, she attended a “hippie” school in California, where students ate vegetarian meals and took meditation classes. She chose to attend UW because she attended small schools her whole life and wanted a change by attending a big public school. Also, she wanted to go to a school that offered journalism courses for undergraduates.

Ellie is majoring in Journalism and French. She works at Ideas That Evoke as a strategy intern, as well as with Isthmus. She loves to read, and her goal is to read 50 books by the end of the year. She chose Wisconsin because of its fantastic journalism program and fun campus culture.
Kelsey Barrett

Kelsey is majoring in Journalism. She is a web content intern for the New York Islanders. In her spare time, Kelsy is an avid runner and book reader. She chose Wisconsin because of how the UW campus intertwines with the city — she had never seen anything like it.
Ryan Mares

Ryan is majoring in Journalism and Strategic Communication. He is a state news associate editor for The Badger Herald and works for Agency. In Ryan’s free time, he runs marathons — he is currently training for an Iron Man. He chose Wisconsin because it had good programs for what he wanted and he liked the college town atmosphere.
Gretchen Blohm

Gretchen is majoring in Reporting and Strategic Communication. She is a journalist for Sports Radio America. Gretchen is from Seattle, Washington, so she loves surfing, hiking, skiing and waterskiing. She chose Wisconsin because she wanted to get out of Seattle. UW was a draw for her because of the football team, how close it was to a lake, State Street and its academics.

Cate is majoring in Journalism with a Sports Communications certificate. She is a student writer at Bell magazine and the Daily Cardinal, an assistant editor at Madison Commons and an ambassador at The Women’s Network. Cate has an English Bulldog. She came to Wisconsin because she wanted to branch out and leave home, and she thinks the environment in Madison is really special.
